Showing What a Tracked Grinder Can Really Do

One of this week’s stump grinding jobs over in the Axminster area definitely wasn’t straightforward, but the Jo Beau made it look that way.

The main challenge on this one wasn’t the stump size or access, it was the bank the stumps were sat on. Steep enough that just walking up it properly was difficult, never mind getting machinery onto it safely.

We estimated the slope at around 35 degrees.

For a lot of stump grinders, that would’ve been a walk-away job.

But this is exactly where the recently upgraded Jo Beau B37-110 comes into its own.

The tracked setup, wide footprint and low centre of gravity make a massive difference on terrain like this. Instead of fighting the ground conditions, the machine stays planted and stable, which gives far more confidence when working on difficult slopes and uneven ground.

The B37-110 is powered by a 37hp EFI Vanguard engine and fitted with Jo Beau’s Green Teeth grinding system, giving it serious grinding performance while still remaining compact and manoeuvrable. The hydraulic tracks and auto function operation make life far easier on difficult terrain, especially on sites where safety and positioning really matter.

The grinding depth has also been a huge advantage for us on larger and more demanding jobs, especially commercial work where deeper grinding is often required.

This job was a perfect example of why we upgraded to the tracked Jo Beau setup in the first place. It opens up jobs and terrain that many machines simply wouldn’t feel comfortable tackling.

The photos honestly don’t do the slope justice. Standing on the bank was hard enough at times, but the Jo Beau handled it properly and made light work of the stumps once in position.

We bought the machine through Global Machinery Solutions who we’ve dealt with for years now. Always friendly, great to deal with and the aftercare has been brilliant. From delivery through to ongoing support, they’ve always looked after us properly.
